Ep 108 NextDoor – How Farmers Are Using It to Sell Their CSA – Interview with Rowan Miller
May 19, 2021 by Corinna
Ever heard of the NextDoor app?
I’ve been hearing farmers mention it from time to time in my farmer Facebook group as a way to sell their products. In many cases, they are getting wicked results, compared to Facebook ads.
So I decided to investigate.
In this episode, I interview Rowan Miller of RowanTree Farms, who explains how this social media app works, who it’s best for, and how to use it to sell more of your products.
It reminds me a lot of the power of local community Facebook groups, as a way to target hyper-local people in your community. But without all the Facebook drama.
I encourage you to check out the NextDoor app, join the community, and see if there’s an active neighborhood in your area that you could benefit from.
Who is Rowan Katharine Miller?
Rowan Miller is the sole owner of RowanTree Farm in south central Pennsylvania. She produces organically grown vegetables for market and a very small CSA. She also raises pastured lamb, pork and broilers and pasture running laying hens. She recently acquired an additional 104 acres so she can expand her livestock business and add beef to her product suite. Rowan shares her experience with NextDoor in this week’s podcast!
