129 Website 101 ~ What’s the Difference Between a Home Page, a Sales Page, and a Landing Page?

Are you trying to update your website, and running into confusing terminology?

Like, what’s a landing page versus a regular page on your website? And how is it different than a sales page? Are they the same?

I remember  being SO confused about this distinction when I was first learning about marketing.

In today’s episode, I crack the code and explain the nuance. I also explain why you might want to have a sales page for every signature product in your product suite…

Hit play and let’s get started!

Some of the resources mentioned in this episode:

      • Follow me on Instagram @mydigitalfarmer to get a daily marketing and farm business tip.
      • Find my Facebook group for farmers! I jump in here every month to teach farmers tips and fundamentals of marketing.
      • Listen to Episode 19 to learn about the PASTOR sales framework for copywriting on sales pages.
      • Grab my free PDF guide “10 Common Website Mistakes Made By Farmers.” Use this to do a self-audit of your own website, to see if you need to do a little tweaking this winter!
      • I talk about LeadPages in this episode. I use this application to help me build beautiful, highly converting landing pages. They sync up with my website on WordPress. So I build them in Leadpages, and then publish the page on my own website. When someone clicks on that page, it takes them to the “pretty” landing page that I’ve designed on LeadPages. It’s pretty slick. It costs around $300 per year, and it’s well worth the ability to make sales pages that look fancy. Take it for a test drive and see if you like it. • ConvertKit – My email provider of choice is ConvertKit. They’ve been adding a bunch of features this past year that has made it even more robust! You can create landing pages that are hosted on ConvertKit. They are beautiful templates that allow you to drag and drop new images and copy. I LOVE IT!! If you’re ready to upgrade from MailChimp, this is definitely one to check out. I also recommend ActiveCampaign or Drip.
