Episode 78 CSA Farming Secrets with Cassie Noltnerwyss of Crossroads Community Farm
October 14, 2020 by Corinna
In today’s episode I interview one of the big guns of CSA, Cassie Noltnerwyss of Crossroads Community Farm, and we talk ALL things CSA. Cassie and her partner Mike started farming at Crossroads Community Farm in Cross Plains, Wisconsin in 2005. Together they run an 800 member family CSA in the Madison area, which makes up about 65% of their business. They also serve many wholesale accounts, and took a bold move to drop their farmer’s market a few years ago.
Cassie has adopted a lot of content marketing ideas to grow her customers, which we talk about in this episode. She also shares how she uses her background as a teacher to draw people in, how she gets people to sign up early for her CSA, how many people she has on her waiting list (it’s insane), and how she negotiated a deal with Farmigo — a CSA management software — to help her work her digital marketing magic.
