Episode 27: How to Plan a Challenge to Engage Your CSA Members
October 16, 2019 by Corinna
If you have a Facebook group for your farm, and you ever struggle to figure out how to keep it engaged (especially in the off season), I want to introduce you to the wonderful world of “CHALLENGES.”
Over the last 2 years, I have led about 7 challenges inside my group:
- Freezer Challenge
- Herb Challenge
- LunchBox Challenge
- Instant Pot Challenge
These challenges have provided clear focus for my weekly content posting schedule. But more important, they have engaged my members and GROWN my customers into a more successful CSA user.
Which means fewer people leave dissatisfied at the end of the year.
In this podcast I’m going to show you exactly how to plan a challenge of your own. ALL the details, my friend. So get a pad and paper, and take some notes. You are going to LOVE THIS.

Some of the resources mentioned in this episode:
- Episode 3: The Customer Value Journey — I consider this the MOST important fundamental of marketing.
- Here are the rules for running a challenge or contest on Facebook — anything where you might give away a prize.
- ConvertKit – I mentioned my email service provider of choice in today’s episode. I can’t say enough good things about this tool. I find it so easy to use, easy to read the stats, and easy to set up automations. I am an affiliate for this tool, so I get a commission of any purchase.
- If you want to see an email challenge in action, you can subscribe to my Instant Pot Challenge here.
- I mention the CSA Membership Academy in this episode. To join, go here. This is a goldmine of resources for CSA farmers. You can see and download ALL my videos, cheatsheets, templates, recipe books, storage guides, EVERYTHING I’ve made to coach my CSA members to greatness. And although I don’t want you to copy them and use them as is for your own members, you can use them as a GUIDE to help you make your own. If you want to try this content marketing strategy for your farm like I do, this is the fastest way there. www.mydigitalfarmer.com/academy
