92 Why You Need to Send a Weekly Email to Your List (and What to Talk About)

January 27, 2021 by Corinna

Every week, I send an email to the people on my email list.

Yes, every week.

“The Weekly Email” is a key part of my marketing machine. Its job is to stay in touch with core customers and customer leads, keep my brand top of mind, and build relationship and trust.

You work so hard to get people on your email list. If you never do anything with it, you won’t reap the benefits!

Yet so many people are reluctant to embrace the weekly email.

  • “What do I talk about?”
  • “Won’t people get tired of them?”
  • “What if they unsubscribe?”

In this episode, I share how to get over these mindset blocks, and I talk about why the weekly email is so important for your customer journey. I also share 7 email templates to help kickstart your own writing.

No more writer’s block! No more excuses.

Hit play and let’s get started!

Some of the resources mentioned in this episode:

      • Find my Facebook group for farmers! I jump in here every month to teach farmers tips and fundamentals of marketing.
      • Why They Buy — My free training that teaches you the 6 triggers that cause someone to feel ready to buy your product. When you know what they are, you can better craft your sales message to help your ideal customer feel good about their purchase.
      • Make sure you have a good email service provider. I recommend ConvertKit as a text only email provider (for the reasons I share in the episode). If you REALLY want to have a “newsletter template” then I recommend Active Campaign.
      • Episode 78 Interview with CSA Farmer Cassie Noltnerwyss — Cassie shares how her best emails are actually the ones where she just shares stories from her life.
      • Join my CSA Academy — In this episode, I shared my digital library of resources that I share with my CSA members. This library (called The CSA Academy) contains video training for every vegetable (made by me in 2018), a veggie ebook for every veggie, cheatsheets for every vegetable exit strategy under the son, the A to Z vegetable storage guide, a short e-training “The Beginner’s Guide to CSA” and more. You can join the Academy for a monthly rate to see what all the downloads are. Use them to help you create your own content that you can share in emails with customers.
      • Episode 18 of MyDigitalFarmer Podcast: Top Tips for Writing Better Emails — listen to this episode for essential writing practices that will make your emails easier to read (and make your customers more likely to open them).
      • Register for my free webinar: “4 Strategies to Sell Your CSA During CSA Week or Beyond” (hosted by the CSA Innovation Network) on Feb. 2, 1-2:15 PM. We’ll cover 6 messaging hooks that will resonate with the ideal CSA customers (learn the words that you should use in your promotions)! You’ll also get a free promo template kit!
      • If you’re a “new” CSA farmer, and you’re looking for help with how to build your CSA box plan, grab my free “Perfect Box Planner Guide.” This 13 page PDF will give you the formula for how to build your perfect box plan for next year’s season. Use this to guide your crop production plan this winter! Grab it here.
