Need some help with Instagram reels?
Search no more. Today’s podcast guest is an Instagram guru. Laura Patterson has mastered the art of engagement and lead generation through the use of Instagram reels, creating compelling content every day that attracts her ideal customer. In this podcast, Laura shares how she marketed and grew her micro-greens business, and how she now uses those same strategies to grow her online business, teaching farmers.
Who is Laura Patterson?
My guest today is Laura Patterson, microgreens farmer and owner of handgrowngreens.com.
Several years ago, Laura stepped away from more than a decade of working in hospitals as a registered nurse. She wanted to find a way of contributing to the health of her community that was more aligned with the life she wanted for her family. She started Hand-Grown Greens; a small Microgreens farm committed to growing organic, local, and nutrient dense Microgreens year round.
In 2020 Laura started teaching others how they too can make money with microgreens! Owning her own Microgreens farm business has given her the freedom and flexibility to do what she loves while still prioritizing her family and lifestyle.

Get the NEW MARKETING BOOK: Ready Farmer One. Thinking about selling your farm products online, but unsure where to start? Last month, Local Line, along with Diego Footer, fellow podcaster and farm YouTuber, launched their new book – Ready Farmer One – The Farmers Guide to Create, Design, and Market an Online Farm Store.
The first book of its kind, Ready Farmer One, is the blueprint for the modern farmer. This book prepares farmers with the tools to create, design, and market an online store to start selling online, and continue selling online, profitably. From your online store, marketing strategy, and farm operations, Ready Farmer One is filled with farmers’ stories on their journey with online sales.
You’ll learn:
- How to create an online store that makes it easy for customers to buy your products 24/7 with little to no involvement from you.
- Why it might be more profitable to sell more to existing customers than new customers.
- Why your farm business is at risk if you’re only selling at the farmers’ market.
- And, so much more.
The book features over 30 interviews with farmers, including myself! By the end, you’ll have the knowledge, skills, and tools you need to create a successful online store.
You can learn more about the book and get your copy today at readyfarmerone.com.
