180 The Most Important Marketing Elements to Build in your Business

180 The Most Important Marketing Elements to Build in your Business

October 5, 2022 by Corinna

I get this question a lot from farmers…

“What should I focus on first in my marketing strategy?”

After 15 years of running a farm business (and learning this stuff the hard way), I feel like I can offer a pretty solid “list” of the marketing “assets” that pack the biggest punch.

In this episode, I share what they are. It’s not a short list. The goal of this episode is not to intimidate you or overwhelm you. (I didn’t make all these in one year either!) But having the checklist will give you clarity and direction! You’ll know what things to start working on.

Remember: Slow and steady wins the race. Build these a few at a time, and one day you’ll wake up and notice that your sales system is humming like a well-oiled machine.

I share a LOT of links to past episodes in this podcast too, so you can follow up on the marketing asset of your choice and go dive in deep.

Get your checklist and marching order in this episode! Ready?… Let’s go!

Early Bird Campaigns that Convert Course— it’s that time of year when I start working on my “CSA Early Bird Renewal Sign-ups.” Every year, I follow my formula, and incentivize the majority of my CSA members to say “yes” by the end of October. (Last year was 93% renewal in 3 days!). Farmers have asked me “What’s your secret?” Well… there are a few steps I follow, and I’d LOVE to share them with you! My online program teaches you my formula. Admittedly it will take you a few weeks to “do the work” and build the machine. But once you’ve made it, you just pull the trigger and watch it work! Then next year, you can do it again, and again, and again. This strategy can be used at the end of your season, or in January or February. Follow the framework, and you’ll see it work. Check out the link to see what’s included in the program.

Episode 143 – The 5 Elements of a Great Offer

Episode 3 – Understanding Traffic and the Marketing Funnel

Episode 18 – Top Tips for Writing Better Emails

Episode 9 – Anatomy of a Great Lead Magnet

ConvertKit — my preferred email service provider. I prefer a “text-style” looking email. I still add pictures, but to me it “feels” like a personal email when you receive it — not a “company-mass-email” that the newsletter-template style creates. I’m an affiliate for this company, so I will earn a commission if you order through my link.

ActiveCampaign — my second choice for email service provider. If you prefer using the “newsletter-style” formatting in your emails, this is the one you should use. I am also an affiliate for this company, so I will earn a commission if you order through my link.

A to Z Vegetable Storage Guide Canva Template — this is one of my most popular products for farmers. You’ll get my Canva template for this 44 page illustrated veggie storage guide. Ready to use as-is, or add your logo to customize it. Remove entries, add new ones. A great way to fast-track yourself to a highly-converting lead magnet!

Episode 71 – Setting Up Your Google Business Listing

Google Business Profile Workshop — I show you how to set up your GBP profile. Includes an awesome workbook with step by step screenshots to help you get this done without confusion.

Building a Storybrand by Donald Miller (Amazon link) — this is my top marketing book that teaches you the framework for how to build out your marketing message. It also gives you clarity on what to put on your website and in what order.

Episode 41 –  The Formula for a Perfect Testimonial

Episode 5 – The Value Ladder

Episode 63 – How to Build an Email Nurture Campaign

Episode 142 – Tips for Choosing Your E-Commerce Platform

Local Line — my preferred e-commerce platform. We LOVE this software. The service is outstanding, and the price is around $60/month for us! This is an affiliate link! If you sign up with them thru this link, you’ll get one premium feature for FREE for the first year. Use the code DIGITALFARMER2022 when you sign up.

Start with Why– by Simon Sinek — another great book that will help you find your “why” messaging phrase — one of the marketing assets that I think every business needs.

Episode 117 – Knowing the “Why” Behind Your Business

Episode 159 – EIEIO What to Post on Social Media
